Description
These courses provide comprehensive, evidence-based education on the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of symptomatic uterine fibroids. Designed for obstetricians, gynecologists, and primary care providers, the curriculum covers the spectrum from conservative medical management to modern uterus-sparing interventions and shared decision-making
Objectives
Evaluate and Diagnose: Utilize clinical criteria and imaging modalities (such as transvaginal ultrasound or MRI) to accurately identify and characterize uterine fibroids.Assess Symptoms: Recognize the signs of symptomatic fibroids, including abnormal uterine bleeding, bulk-related pelvic pressure, and fertility or obstetrical complications.Compare Treatments: Understand the indications, contraindications, and clinical outcomes of pharmacological therapies (e.g., GnRH antagonists, oral contraceptives) and procedural interventions (e.g., Uterine Fibroid Embolization/UFE, myomectomy, and hysterectomy).Individualize Care: Formulate personalized, patient-centered care plans that align with the patient’s fertility desires, symptom severity, and treatment goals.
