Description
Review and discuss complex colorectal cancer cases using a multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach.
Objectives
Apply appropriate diagnostic evaluation and staging of colorectal and appendiceal malignancies using clinical findings, imaging, histopathology, and tumor markers.
Differentiate management strategies for appendiceal carcinoma, including indications for upfront surgery versus neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
Assess prognosis and treatment implications of mucinous adenocarcinoma of the appendix.
Formulate optimal management plans for locally advanced rectal cancer, including selection of neoadjuvant and total neoadjuvant therapy (TNT).
Interpret radiological imaging, particularly CT and MRI pelvis, to guide staging and surgical planning.
Discuss the role of systemic therapy and radiotherapy, including sequencing, TNT regimens, and the role of hemostatic radiotherapy.
Promote evidence-based, patient-centered decision-making through coordinated input from surgery, oncology, radiology, pathology, and allied disciplines.
Enhance clinical decision-making skills in complex colorectal oncology cases presented in real-world practice settings.
